Apartment Life

After Katie's soccer game the other day I went to her apartment and helped her hang her pictures and clean up a bit. She has been so busy with school and soccer she hasn't had time to do much else. After we were done with our work we just layed on her bed and talked for an hour. It was SO nice.

I surprised Katie's roommate, Maddie, while she was on the phone.

Katie's wrist has been hurting most of the season. Now that they are done with soccer for a little while, TU sent her to a doctor yesterday. She may need surgery to remove a small cyst in her wrist. An MRI has been scheduled, then the doc will make the decision.
Chris had a minor fender bender on the way to work today. There was hardly a scratch so he's hoping the other driver won't do anything. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for him.

Tulsa Run

Saturday morning I got up early and went to cheer Drew on in the Tulsa Run. He ran the 5K run. There was also a 15K and "fun run." Runners on your mark, get set . . .

GO! They were lead by motorcycle police escorts.
The finish line was just past Tulsa's beautiful new BOK center. This is where we saw Bruce Springstein.

Here he is, approaching the finish line.

Drew finished is 1734th place out of 2151 runners. Of course he did stop to talk with his police officer friend and stopped to help a lady who fell and hit her head. For him it wasn't about getting a good time. It was about finishing the race after the tough year he has had.

On our way back to the car we ran into his step-sister, Kendall.

He was very happy to have done the Tulsa Run and I was proud of him for doing it.

Happy Halloween!

Katie went to a Halloween party for FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) this week. She switched places with VJ and went as a football player and he, of course, was a woman soccer player. Love the headband!

Here's the whole group. Katie's roommate, Maddie, was a jellyfish.

I borrowed these pictures from facebook. :)

NICE WEEK WITH THE INLAWS

Dick & Pat came to visit and shared a week of our lives. We watched Katie play some soccer at TU, celebrated their anniversary on Tuesday with a nice dinner out, and Dick and I enjoyed the TU/Boise football game on Wednesday night before they hit the road Thursday. Unfortunately it was chilly and rainy just about every day this week. VJ was kind enough to get us four tickets to the game, but Dave and Pat bombed out on us. Dick and I had a great time at the game. I think he even had one of the concession workers convinced he was a scout for the Green Bay Packers - HA!

This afternoon Dave and I are heading off to Memphis to watch the TU soccer team on Sunday afternoon. The team hasn't been doing very well and Katie has had to work her butt off. Memphis is one of the top teams, so we're hoping to see an upset. Fingers are crossed!

Week in Review - Part III

Last Monday, October 5th, we celebrated Katie's 20th birthday (2 days late).

Katie's not much of a cake person, so she always gets a big birthday cookie.

She had to share her celebration with the Packers & the Vikings.

The brown jacket she is wearing is the birthday present she wanted the most -- a rain coat.

Katie & friends (Drew, Brandon, Maddie/Roomie, Birthday Girl, VJ, Ben)

I hated to miss her birthday, but we had a good time celebrating a couple days late.
