My Winter Wonderland Abode

My Saturday morning shoveling job. What a workout!

We didn't end up staying in yesterday. Instead we ventured out onto the unplowed streets of Tulsa and picked up Katie for lunch and a little grocery shopping. We drove by the site of the Extreme Home Makeover. They picked a terrible time to come to Tulsa. They tore the house down on Thursday in the ice/snow and the new home will be completed by Wednesday. Love that show!

Then Dave and I took a nice little walk in the snow. Kellie & Pogo stopped by for a visit. We made dinner for a good neighbor/friend who lost her father unexpectedly. We had friends over to watch a movie and Katie stayed home for the night. So, what we thought would be a quiet weekend snowed in has turned out to be a nice busy weekend.

My favorite place to be:

Thursday afternoon the freezing rain began. By Friday morning it changed to snow and didn't stop until last night. Schools and business were closed throughout Oklahoma. We ended up with at least 6 inches of snow on top of ice and I was so lucky to relive my Wisconsin shoveling days this morning. Gotta admit I don't really miss shoveling AT ALL!

Yesterday afternoon I took the opportunity to make a yummy batch of carmel corn.

Since they don't plow the neighborhoods at all down here I think we will be staying in all weekend.
