Happy Halloween!

Katie went to a Halloween party for FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) this week. She switched places with VJ and went as a football player and he, of course, was a woman soccer player. Love the headband!

Here's the whole group. Katie's roommate, Maddie, was a jellyfish.

I borrowed these pictures from facebook. :)

NICE WEEK WITH THE INLAWS

Dick & Pat came to visit and shared a week of our lives. We watched Katie play some soccer at TU, celebrated their anniversary on Tuesday with a nice dinner out, and Dick and I enjoyed the TU/Boise football game on Wednesday night before they hit the road Thursday. Unfortunately it was chilly and rainy just about every day this week. VJ was kind enough to get us four tickets to the game, but Dave and Pat bombed out on us. Dick and I had a great time at the game. I think he even had one of the concession workers convinced he was a scout for the Green Bay Packers - HA!

This afternoon Dave and I are heading off to Memphis to watch the TU soccer team on Sunday afternoon. The team hasn't been doing very well and Katie has had to work her butt off. Memphis is one of the top teams, so we're hoping to see an upset. Fingers are crossed!

Week in Review - Part III

Last Monday, October 5th, we celebrated Katie's 20th birthday (2 days late).

Katie's not much of a cake person, so she always gets a big birthday cookie.

She had to share her celebration with the Packers & the Vikings.

The brown jacket she is wearing is the birthday present she wanted the most -- a rain coat.

Katie & friends (Drew, Brandon, Maddie/Roomie, Birthday Girl, VJ, Ben)

I hated to miss her birthday, but we had a good time celebrating a couple days late.

Week in Review - Part I

Home Sweet Home!
It's always nice to go back "home" to my parents' house in Wisconsin. This year my mom decorated the front yard just for us. Kellie, Chris and I arrived on Friday afternoon (10/2).

My parents have lived in the same house for almost as long as I've been alive. They moved in when I was only a few months old. That house is sure full of happy memories. :)

Friday night my sisters, Barb & Nancy, came over, along with my nieces, Amy, Amanda and Emily and great-nieces, Lilly & Abbie. Amy and Lilly, sharing a big laugh.

Nancy and her girls, Emily & Amanda.

Me and my god-daughter/niece, Amanda.

Chris & Kellie with their flower girls.

It was a wonderful night!

Week Update

Kellie and Chris are still trying to decide if they are the proud owners of a 2nd beagle or if they are just foster parents. They talked to Beagle Rescue this week and are thinking, although Pepper and Pogo are getting along well, they may not be ready to have two dogs.

Katie left for El Paso, Texas Thursday morning. Last night they played UTEP and lost 1-2. Katie made 10 saves and kept them in the game. She's playing her very best, but can't save 'em all. The opposing teams always make mention of Katie in their game reviews. Here's the latest: http://utepathletics.cstv.com/sports/w-soccer/recaps/092509aaa.html This morning they are off to Colorado Springs. They will be playing Colorado College tomorrow afternoon.

We had so much rain this week! Here's a picture as one of the many storms blew by.

We're struggling a bit with Josie. She's such a good dog, except that she has accidents in the house or on the patio. Any suggestions?
Today is a bright, shiney day here in Oklahoma and I'm gonna enjoy it!

Enough Already!

The rain was back today with a vengence. We have had several inches of rain and it's still coming down. We had a little break at sunset which produced a beautiful rainbow to the east. The picture doesn't show it well, but it was pretty for a couple minutes.

Our pool is filled to the tippy top. A new table I bought this summer flipped in the storm and the tiles smashed. You can see that one of the chairs ended up in the pool.

The sun peaked out for a few minutes before the rain started up again. No golfers this afternoon, that's for sure.

I hear Wisconsin is having a drought. Hopefully some of this rain will head up that way.
