Rosie, Boston, Gizmo, Brewster, Spike????

Hello, my name is ???

We're not sure what we are going to call her yet.

Last night we got a new dog. She was rescued from the dog pound by a Boston Terrier rescue group and we adopted her from them.

Tonight Katie made a quick trip home with VJ and Maddie
to meet our new addition.
Kellie, Chris and Pogo stopped by too
(before I got my camera out).

She is adorable!

and already feeling very much at home.

I have to work on getting a smiling picture next.
She may not look like it, but she's really happy and smiley.

Oh Happy Day!

It's been a long six months, but yesterday Drew finally had his last chemo therapy treatment. His is now officially a survivor. He's free until October 2nd, when he will go back to the oncologist for more scans (CT & PET). After that he will go back every few months for a year for chest x-rays to make sure everything still looks good. Kellie and Chris came over last night to celebrate with us. Drew laid in the hammock on the patio feeling awful, so it wasn't very festive, but it was defintely a HAPPY DAY! We're gonna try to celebrate again tonight. Hopefully he'll be feeling better.

Welcome Home Katie (Maria)!

Monday night Katie arrived back home after a wonderful 10 day trip to Spain with her TU soccer team. Here are a few pictures from her trip.

Late night romp at the beach. Katie is mid-right in the pink.

Since all of the girls are adults, they were actually given a lot of time on their own to explore and have fun. A great time was had by all!

Home and Away

This week we've had the pleasure of entertaining VJ and his best friends friends from Colorado while Katie has been gone to Spain. L-R, Veronica, who goes to college in Nebraska; Mark/Rice-Houston; Brady/North Dakota; VJ-front. Now that they are scattered everywhere, they really enjoyed being together again. It was a pleasure having them all here.

Katie enjoyed the past ten days in Spain, playing some soccer, watching some soccer and having fun being a tourist. We missed her, but it was a great experience for her and her TU soccer teammates.

Happy Birthday Dave!

Friday we celebrated Dave's birthday. He took the afternoon off and went to see the latest Harry Potter movie with Kellie and Katie.

Then we all had a nice dinner outside on the patio (with the Brewer game going in the background). Even though it was his birthday, he cooked a yummy shrimp alfredo pasta dinner for us. As you can see from all of the empty bowls, it was delicious!

It was nice that Katie was able to be here for his birthday. She left the next morning for Spain with her college soccer team.

Happy Birthday to Me!

For the past several years I have been in Wisconsin for my birthday. Because of my new job I wasn't able to go this summer. It had become somewhat of a tradition to be in Wisconsin for my birthday. I missed being there but enjoyed my special day with Dave and the kids. Thanks to Nancy, Bev and Pat for the nice phone calls, Rick and Barb for the nice emails, and Mom & Dad, Pat, Nancy and the neighbors for the cards. It's always great to be remembered on your birthday. :)

My gifts were terrific. Kellie and Chris gave me two tiny photo albums to keep in my purse and a hummingbird feeder; Katie a chocolate brown watch I had my eye on in the Kohl's ad and, as always, she made me an extra-special birthday card; from VJ I received a gift card to Kirklands, my FAVORITE store; Dave gave me a really cool floaty fountain light show for the pool and a beautiful wrought iron hanging; a Kohl's gift card from Dick and Pat, cash from Mom and Dad; a nice card from the neighbors; and last but not least, a nice big birthday hug from Drew. Thanks to everyone for making my day extra-special.
I think I hear Kohl's calling my name - gotta go!
