Art After Hours

What a nice evening I had last night! Kellie and I went to see our old neighbor/friend Renee, who had her artwork on display at the Art After Hours event put on by the Broken Arrow Arts & Humanities Council. Here she is with some of her beautiful work. We were so impressed and happy to see Renee again. Love that lady!

After enjoying a little wine, music and socializing, we left and picked up Chris then headed to Compadres, their favorite Mexican restaurant, and enjoyed dinner together. Of course first I had to say hello to Pogo, checkout their new tree and newly planted garden. Ah the joys of home ownership.

A Week with Dick & Pat

Last week we had a nice visit with Dick and Pat. They arrived on Good Friday, got to celebrate Kellie's birthday with her on Saturday and Easter with us all on Sunday. During the week they enjoyed visiting Tulsa's newest entertainment venue -- the big new River Spirit Casino.

On Saturday morning they watched Katie play soccer at TU before they hit the road back to Wisconsin. It's always nice to have visitors.

Easter Sunday

Sunday morning VJ met Katie and I at church for Easter services. After church he surprised me with a nice Easter bouquet. What a sweetheart. Aren't they a cute couple?

My kids are never too old for a little Easter basket hunt. As you can see, I had a few extra kids this year.

Kellie, Chris, Drew, Katie, Kaitlyn (from California), VJ (from Philadelphia). Kaitlyn and VJ couldn't go home for Easter, so they joined us for Easter dinner.

Happy Birthday Kellie!

How is it possible that my baby can be 24 years old? She's grown into such a nice young lady who I am very proud of.

Saturday we celebrated Kellie's birthday with lunch out at our favorite Mexican restaurant and then a little celebration at her house with her in-laws. It was a very nice day.

THE BOSS

I always thought Bruce Springstein was okay, but I was never a huge fan. Well, Tuesday night Dave and I went to see Bruce and the E Street Band and they were AWESOME! No cameras were allowed, so I borrowed a few pictures from the Tulsa World.

Obviously they had much better seats than we did. Our tickets were almost $100 each and we were so high up we found ourselves watching the big screens more than little Bruce way down on stage. There were only about five rows behind us.

They put on a great show and a portion of the proceeds were donated to the community food bank.

I definitely walked out of that concert a much bigger fan than when we first walked in.

More Soccer - Yay!

We'll be back out on the soccer fields Saturday morning. Katie has a game at 10:00 and then another one at 4:00 in the afternoon. I forgot how much I miss sitting in the stands and cheering on the team. GO TU!

Today I spent some time up at the oncology office with Drew as he received his second chemo treatment. He's having a good day -- considering.
Good night -- sweet dreams. :)

Katie's Fan Club

FINALLY, we got to watch Katie play some college soccer. Last night they played Oral Roberts University and ended up in a 1-1 tie. Katie played a great game and had a few really nice saves. It was so good to see her play again.

L-R Zac, Ben, Katie, VJ, Maddie and Drew
These boys are lots of fun to watch a game with.
